Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1½-inch chunks (about 2 breasts).
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour for the first coat.
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch for that extra crisp factor.
  • 1 teaspoon salt to season things up.
  • 2 large eggs beaten for dipping.
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs for that crunch.
  • 1 cup buffalo sauce to coat everything in spicy goodness.

Method

  1. Prepping Your Chicken
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F, then lightly spray the basket with nonstick spray. Get three bowls ready:
  3. One for the flour, cornstarch, and salt.
  4. One with the beaten eggs.
  5. One with the panko.
  6. Now coat each chicken piece—first flour, then egg, then panko—like a little assembly line.
  7. Cooking the Chicken
  8. Place the coated chicken pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Don’t overcrowd—work in batches if needed. Cook for 8 minutes, flipping halfway through. You’ll know they’re done when the inside reaches 165°F.
  9. Tossing in the Sauce
  10. Once they’re golden and crisp, move them into a large bowl. Pour over the buffalo sauce and toss gently until every bite is coated.
  11. Want them even crispier? Pop them back into the air fryer for another 3-4 minutes after saucing.
